Chaos
You spin. You whirl. You rock. You roll. What is it??!! It’s Chaos – a triple-spinning thrill ride that opened at Cedar Point amusement park/resort in 1997. Rated the "Best New Product for a Major Amusement Park Ride" at the time it was introduced at the Annual Convention and Trade Show of the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA), Chaos is the latest in a new generation of midway spinning rides. Chaos’ three-dimensional rocking, rolling and rotating motion with a spinning/tilting platform whirls riders in a 360-degree movement that turns sideways, upside down and every way but right side up. You won’t know where you are!
In ten years, Chaos has given nearly 5 million rides. In 2006, 340,351 guests rocked and rolled on Chaos. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall.
Rider Safety Guide
- Gondolas start out hanging from ride, then go to horizontal by centrifugal force of spinning ride, which then lifts to a 70 degree angle, turning riders upside down. To enter ride, guests must maneuver into free swinging car suspended several feet above the ride floor. Maximum recommended weight limit of 320 pounds per car. May not accommodate guests of exceptional size. The shoulder harness and lap bar must be fastened and tightened securely at all times. Special access is via the exit gate. Please signal for host to assist you.
